Company HistoryChristian Joergensen establishes EASYPRINT A/S in 1991 in Karlslunde, just south of Copenhagen, Denmark. Based on his vast experience with product and process development in the meat packaging industry, Christian's original concept is to create a consultancy company that specialises in integrating packaging machines and thermal transfer printers into manufacturing plants in the food and medical industries.
As a consultant Christian soon realizes that while there is a wide supply of efficient packaging machines available on the market, electronic marking continues to be a challenge. Existing printers do not seem to meet the increasing demands for flexibility, increased productivity, and lower manufacturing costs, and Christian sets out to find a way to solve this problem.
The following years EASYPRINT quickly evolves into taking advantage of the opportunities within thermal transfer printing. The company establishes itself as an R&D center that sells customized solutions through strategic partners under another brand name.
In 1996 EASYPRINT begins to develop standardized printers and in 1999 the CM (continuous), IM (intermittent), and TM (for thermoforming machines) high-speed printer line is introduced, suited for printing on all types of flexible packaging material. They prove EASYPRINT's reputation as a true innovator. The CM features a new and patented ribbon savings system that reduces foil consumption with up to 80% thereby yielding unmatched cost savings and flexibility. In addition, the TM and IM printers are able to cover a larger print area than any other comparable printer on the market.
The Danish branch continues to be characterized by a strong sense of independence and entrepreneurship and 1999 marks a milestone, as Christian decides to follow his vision. From selling strictly under private label EASYPRINT slowly begins to create its own network of distributors in Scandinavia to reinforce the mission: Helping customers reduce overall manufacturing costs while increasing productivity by developing the most efficient thermal transfer printer on the market, suited for every type of production line that requires electronic marking.
In 2002 the COMMUNICATOR is launched. Apart from featuring the ribbon savings system, the COMMUNICATOR revolutionizes thermal transfer printing standards as the first high-speed, self-adjusting printer with a 1.4km color ribbon. It offers unparalleled costs savings on consumables without compromising print quality. Furthermore, it is the first thermal transfer printer to take advantage of a windows based software design to ensure compatibility with most packaging machine control systems, as well as other external sources, such as databases. As a result of this new standardized design the Communicator offers improved quality and reliability, ease of use and lower Total Cost of Ownership.
With the release of the COMMUNICATOR, as well as the success that EASYPRINT experiences in Scandinavia, the company becomes fully independent and sells the printers under its own name and distributor network exclusively. The timing also proves right for expanding the distributor network oversees. From selling printers mainly in Europe EASYPRINT spends the next 2 years establishing distribution channels in United States and begins to look into new opportunities in emerging markets in Asia and Latin America.
2004 marks another milestone for EASYPRINT with the assignment of a new leadership group and Mikkel Wichmann taking the role as Managing Director.
Today EASYPRINT continues to live by our mission of being on the forefront with thermal transfer printing solutions that ensure our customers can continue to meet the critical demands for achieving the highest level of uptime and efficiency on the manufacturing line, while maintaining overall low Total Cost of Ownership.
Presently, EASYPRINT is represented in more than 30 countries and the outlook for the future is bright, as we continue to strengthen our relationships with distributors and customers worldwide. |
