10 handy tips on operation and maintenance when using an EASYPRINT thermal transfer printer

  1.  Your printer must be installed by a certified EASYPRINT partner. If you have any problems with this, please contact EASYPRINT in one of the following ways:

    E-mail: mail@easy-print.com
    Phone: +45 46 15 41 40
    Fax: +45 46 15 41 70

  2. The print head must be cleaned when the ribbon is changed. This should not take more than 5–10 seconds; the print head is cleaned using the EASYPRINT cleaning kit supplied with the printer.

  3. Always be sure to use original ribbon. Non original ribbon will destroy the ceramic EASYPRINT print head more quickly.

  4. There are lots of optional settings in the software which allow you to set up the printer in the best way possible to enhance your production. Once you have installed the printer, you should lock the features not used during standard production so that day-to-day users cannot access them.

  5. Always make sure that the packaging material you are going to be printing on using your EASYPRINT is clean and dry.

  6. If your printer has been uninstalled, it is important to make sure that it is reinstalled correctly later on. If you are not trained in how to do this, please contact your certified EASYPRINT partner to ask for your printer to be installed.

  7. We recommend that you always use EASYPRINT ribbon capacity optimally so as to keep production downtime to an absolute minimum. If this is applicable to you, please see the product specifications on this page.

  8. If a blank line appears in the direction of print, you should first try to clean the printhead using the EASYPRINT cleaning kit. If you find that there's a dot in the printhead, which can happen during the service life of a printer, try where appropriate to move the print so that the burnt-out dot is not used. This trick can extend the service life of your printheads considerably.

  9. If your production line is in a cold environment, find out whether you have an EASYPRINT with a built-in heater element – your distributor can help you here. If so, warm the printer up to room temperature. This will allow you to operate at faster speeds, with less heat being transferred to the print head. This will extend the service life of your printhead and enhance production speeds.

  10. Always make sure that the staff using the printer have received the most basic of training on how to operate the printer. Our printers are designed to be very user friendly – but even so, every user must have received training on the following:
    • Cleaning the printhead
    • Replacing the ribbon
    • Starting a print
    • Stopping a print
